Our Success Story

Cooper was found on the streets with a broken leg. This is when Lab Rescue entered his life. They fixed his leg and gave him a second chance. The surgeon said the break was at least three weeks old. Try to imagine a 10mo old Lab living on the streets with that kind of injury. We couldn’t. It was heartbreaking to think about.

We went to meet him just one week after his surgery. It was love at first sight. He stole our hearts. We knew we could turn his life around and give him the love he so deserved. So, we took him home with us for his 8 week recovery. We knew when we got home we’d have to see how he reacted to our adopted cat Keller. Unsure of how this introduction would go we both held our breath and hoped for the best. Keller came right over to check him out. Cooper gave him a lick on the head and they’ve been buddies ever since.

Cooper made himself right at home, proving to be a perfect addition to the family. His leg is now completely healed and you would never know it had been broken. He loves to run and play in the backyard, go for walks around the neighborhood, and play with his kitty brother Keller. He and Keller hunt bugs and lizards together on the back porch. Cooper also attends Lab Rescue Meet & Greets. He does this to be an example of all the wonderful “Success Stories” they have. He brings us so much joy and laughter everyday. We can’t thank Lab Rescue enough for bringing Cooper into our lives.
