Bandit~
Hello everyone! I wish I had a few hours to just tell you where I've been! I have probably seen more than I wanted too I can tell you that! Well, let's just say, the movie "Castaway" has nothing on me! My mom and dad think I may have an identity crisis since I have been called three different names in the past month. But, I will let you in on a secret....right now I am so happy with my life I don't even need a name. Bonkers was given to me by the shelter (YUK), then Teddy, which was so much better thanks to Barb, but because of my magnificent markings on my face (especially around my eyes) my dad thought I looked like a "Bandit" (and a cute one at that!).
I was rescued from the streets to the Pasco County Animal Shelter on or about December 8, 2006. Then the wonderful people at LRRoF took me to my foster family in Oldsmar,FL and now to my new home in Winter Garden, FL. My new mom and dad drove about 100 miles to see if I would like them. I was running in the back yard with my friends, Barb, Tony and Cody when I saw them; they looked just like the type of people I could spend the rest of my life with! My dad said, within 2 seconds of seeing me (with a love-at-first-site statement), "We'll take him" and I thought, "wait a minute buster! How 'bout me making the decision first since I'm the one who is doing the takin'..." As they came through the lanai door I couldn't have agreed more, "I'll take them" was my response as I literally threw myself into my dads arms!
God's provisions were so wonderful during the time I wondered the streets. Even though I didn't eat the things I should or go the places I probably should have gone, He promised that He would never leave me nor forsake me, after all I was the wonderer. He kept His promise to me. I just trusted Him and knew that He had the perfect family already picked out for me. Yep, I am one lucky guy!
I am a little on the thin side, but not for long. My mom is doing all the things the vet told her to do to get me to my ideal weight. I get my first real bath at a salon tomorrow (not sure how that will go, but I will let you know in a few weeks when I look more like my handsome self....so you better watch out guys, I will be lookin' good!

Cody~
Hey folks, Cody Roberts here. Happy New Year, 2007! I have meant to write and tell you about my new “furever” home here in Jacksonville but have been so busy with trips to the dog park, traveling to the mountains and oh those holidays! I had my own stocking, with yummy treats and Christmas presents to open full of toys! I opened some of them all by myself! They tell me I am very smart!
Let me first tell you how grateful I am to my last foster parents, Dock and Gail from Orlando and to my pal, Trey. They really loved me and treated me so good. Thank you folks! Well my new family, Russ, Angie & Tiff told me a story of how they came upon me. Here’s how it goes. Last July they lost their wonderful chocolate buddy – Buster. They had Buster for over 12 ½ years. The loss was devastating to them and they were not sure what they wanted to do. Russ found the Lab Rescue website in the local paper and decided to take a peek. At first Angie did not want to look but she came around. They then found out that Lab Rescue would be at the local dog park and went and talk to the folks and saw several of my foster brothers and sisters. They decided then that they wanted to help out. They still were not sure that they wanted to adopt but went ahead through the pre-approval adoption process just in case. The next thing you know they found a few they were interested in. After must discussion they made the decision to go meet cutie Winston and see if he liked them. Well, another family had already decided to meet him but they were next in line. Much to their disappointment they were told to keep looking on line as new labbies were added daily. They had already looked that morning but decided to look again and lo and behold, there I was. I must say my picture was excellent and my write up was superb! They got the ball rolling and spoke with Gail and Dock and came to meet me and it was love at first sight! I went home that night and the rest is history. I have gained a little weight (about 30+ pounds) those darn holiday's, but I am so very happy! My new family loves me so much and told me it is like I have been with them “furever”. I will be going back to the dog park as soon as it warms up and will begin taking long walks to shed a few of those unwanted pounds. My new family tells me how sweet I am and how grateful they are that someone else loved me enough to give me to Lab Rescue.
Well I must sign off for now but rest assured I am very happy and loved very much!

Harley~
Our family feels so blessed to have Harley (formerly Peanut) as our new little girl. Harley’s foster mom almost didn’t let us adopt her due to the fact that she was “bitey” and jumped a lot and she was
concerned that she would hurt our two young daughters but once we got her home and she saw that she would be living like a princess, she decided to listen up and follow the rules.
We have not had one problem with her. For a pup that is 9 months old and full of the most energy you could imagine, she CAN listen and follow commands already even when we let her out to go to the bathroom
without a leash, she will step out the door, do her business, and come right back in hopes that we will tell her what a good girl she is!
The best part of the day is when Harley’s dad comes home and throws her tennis ball for her for an hour or so. Then she gets to ride in the car and pick up the kids, come home, eat dinner, rest a bit, chase the ball for another hour, and then go with her mom for a nice long run. After that, she gets to “pass out” on her parents big bed for the night and dream of being a princess!!
Thank you LRROF…………we are so blessed that Harley is in our lives.

Midnight~
As you can see from the attached Christmas morning picture I've settled in quite nicely into my new family. The little girl just loves me! She even has her own little doggie training school set up that involves lots of treats. Of course, I've earned every cookie she gives me.
I've been working on my leash manners...and I don't mind reporting that I'm doing quite well! Dad plays silly games with me where he has me sit or lay down, for a long time with out moving both with and without my leash, then he gives me tons of praise and pets me. We play ball alot too. It sure has been great...THANKS SANTA.
Oh, I heard mom telling dad that she thinks they hit the "Labby Lotto' with me. I guess that is good thing.

Rex~
Dear Labrador Rescue,
We just wanted to give you an update on Rex. He is doing great and adjustin=
g to his new home very well. We let him sniff around the house until he was=
comfortable and before we knew it was was laying peacefully at our feet tak=
ing a nap. He was home. We took a walk in the neighbor this morning so tha=
t he could get used to all the smells on the outside too. He loves to walk=20=
and just smell the air. Our friends have been by to meet our new boy and he=
was quite the charming gentlemen. We will have our first vet visit on Frid=
ay at 2pm, and hopefully he will have his stitches removed at that visit. I=
have attached a picture of him on his morning walk with "dad". =20
Thank you for our boy Rex. We just love him to pieces! =20

SadieSue~
Hi:
Sadie Sue I Love You!
You see I was never looking for a dog in the first place that was before Jasmine showed up on my door step abused and 30 lbs underweight. I fostered her and fell in love with her. I ultimately ended up adopting her and training her to be my service dog. I have MS and she provided balance support and could open doors for me. To make a long story short Jasmine became ill 1 1/2 years after I adopted her. I had to put her to sleep after her courageous battle with cancer. She was my constant companion and friend. I never thought anyone could take her place until I visited Sadie at Barb's house. I immediately knew we were a perfect match. She is my angel in disguise with four legs and a tail.
Sadie continues her service dog training but has already passed her therapy dog test. We are PUP's volunteer at the University Village Nursing Home. We visit once a week. She is working very hard at learning to help me. She knows brace and all her commands. We are working on her behavior when she sees another dog while working. She loves everyone so much she wants to play. She will be taking her first plane trip to Vermont for Christmas as my service dog in training. Wish us luck.
Thank you for giving me Sadie and your wonderful foster mom, Barb.

Sam and Princess~
This is our Sam and Princess. He's the big brown guy, she's the black lady. Sam came to Lab Rescue as a one-year-old, malnourished pup who had been badly abused. In addition to being beaten, he had been shot with air rifles and the Vet had to remove the pellets surgically. And Sam had to take a heartworm cure. We adopted him last March, and he's turned into a big, handsome, fun-loving guy who adores his new life, Princess, and everyone who comes to our door. .
Princess was a grossly overweight three-year-old black Lab with a wonderful disposition, who had languished at RUFF in Ft. Walton for more than a year when we saw her and fell in love. We've had her now since January.
My wife and I don't care to remember how incomplete our lives were without these two beauties. The four of us were truly meant for each other.
The thing is, these two sweethearts wouldn't have made it without a lot of care and attention from volunteers at RUFF and Lab Rescue. God Bless them all!

Stanley~
I have a new home this Christmas. What a great gift for me. After
finding myself without a home at 12 years old I believe I won the
lottery. My new family treats us dogs like children. I was not used to
being kissed and hugged but - wow I sure like it. In my before home I
had to live in the garage a lot but now I go wherever I want. One of the
best things is mom cooks for us (my favorite time of the day - yum). So
please remember that older dogs still have a lot of life left in them
(they may move just a little slower) and make wonderful pets)
Merry Christmas
"Stanley" & Kevin & Susan Valle
