Bailey~

Hi Lab Rescue update on Bailey. Our daughter, Cheyenne is into horses, so thus Bailey has to act like a horse and do jumps. She is very smart with tricks. We nearly have perfected the balancing of a treat on her snout and telling her "wait for it..wait for it.." ala Monty Python, then telling her "OK" where she snatches the milkbone out of the air from her snout. We have had a relapse in the progress of getting her to walk through the legs as if going through a slalom course, my fault, haven't been keeping up on that trick. Next is the "sneak" where she crawls on her belly. I thought she would get that the first day I tried it, because she was doing it so well and easily, but alas it is proving to be harder than I thought to keep her doing it after the first day. She LOVES tennis balls, actually any balls really. And she knows the alarm clock too, 6:30 ...buzzzzzzzzzzzz, "Ok time to go outside and play with the tennis ball....yippee" She is doing very well here. Getting plenty of exercise and play. And has become a regular Mark Spitz now.

Cheers,
Chris & family

 Bo~

How are you doing? I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how I am doing. Also, wanted to send you a couple of picts. of me. I am fine and doing real well. My tail is healed and I do not have to wear that cover anymore or the headpiece. I have some great friends here. Tom is my best buddie and I go everywhere with him. I have another friend Trouble the cat, but I can not figure him out. As you see in the picture he loves me and likes to snuggle. The other two cats make funny noises at me. Its a hissing sound but I don't let it bother me I just stand there and look at them. I just love everyone I meet and Tom and I go for a walk almost every day. I also love to go visit my friend Anita at the Dog Bakery she has some great treats. Her labs Chester and Lucy are fun to visit, that Lucy is young one and full of energy. Well, gotta go and check out to see if the sofa is enpty (my favorite sleeping place). Say "hi" to the rest of the family.

 Cole~

Hi, I'm Cole. I was rescued by Pat and Lewis and loved staying at their house with my sisters, and some other dogs. I want to say thank you to Pat and Lewis for all the help and love they gave me while I was there. I went to their house to wait while until I found a family that needed adopting.

One day this family came by and saw me. They had lost their lab baby to old age after 15 years. Well I could see right away that they needed some love, so I adopted them. Of course, like all labs, I let them believe that they were adopting me. You have to understand that humans need a lot of love and training. Sometimes it takes a firm paw to make them happy. It didn't take me long to teach them that they were supposed to give me treats or a good scratch when I sat down. Now I'm training them to do the same thing for some other things that I like to do. I don't think it will take too long. They're pretty smart for humans. The family has these two young female humans that are just the cutest puppies you've ever seen. It didn't take me very long to have them wrapped around my dew claw. I can get them to play fetch with me all day.

Well I've got to be going. It's hard work training four humans at the same time. Before I go, I want to thank Labrador Rescue of Florida for helping me and a lot of other labs find a good family to adopt.

 Hank~

Our beloved Rolo, a chocolate Labrador, died this past December. After 6 months without a dog we decided to adopt a lab through Labrador Rescue. We got Hank on our Anniversary this past June. He is wonderful with our boys and loves to swim in the pool. We could not have asked for a better match. Thank you Labrador Rescue!

Sincerely
The Duffy Family

 HoneyGirl~

Dear Labrador Rescue, I adopted Honey Girl in May 2005 and she is a perfect fit for my household. She always has a smile on her face and willing to provide as much love to me as I give her. Honey Girl is known by all my neighbors and the kids in the neighborhood absolutely love her. She is so gentle with them that parents have brought their little kids over to meet a sweet dog- many times their real first dog experience. We take long walks, play tug of war, and retrieve the tennis ball every day. The first time a bought her a kong toy it took her about an hour to get the treats out. A few days later when I gave her the toy she gently took it from my hand threw it up in the air and bounced it on the tile in my kitchen so the treats fell out. Now I just put peanut butter in it. This is a smart dog. Thanks Labrador Rescue for helping find the greatest dog!

 Jolene~

Hi: My name is Jolene. I was adopted on July 24, 2006. I love my daddy Dave & my mommy Alice. I also have a sister Barley who is 8 years old. We play so much, I wear my sister out. WE go to a pond parties every weekend. I LOVE the water. Today 9/27/06 I passed my AKC Good Citizen Program and I also passed my Therapy training. HOORAY for me. I am so blessed to have Jolene & Barley. They are both beautiful on the inside and out.

 Munsey~

Hi, I'm Munsey, Bo's girl friend as in I'm a girl and his friend. He gave you some facts about himself but neglected to mention how I'm perfectly behaved and have NEVER done anything mischievous. I love to swim but I'm getting older so walks are not my favorite activity. I manage to stay far enough behind Bo to avoid any embarrassing behavior he may do. All kidding aside he's my best buddy (next to my humans) and we so enjoy our new life. Hey, did I mention we own a cat? We love to ignore him. He loves to adore us. We do that to everyone. Thanks to Lab Rescue for my new life. It is sweet.

 Samson~

I adopted Samson, A.K.A Magnus, in April. There was no foster home available for Sammy at the time, but Vicki with Lab rescue was willing to take him in if our meeting at the pound didn't work out. I took the chance and said yes even though very little was known about him or his temperment. I can't imagine what life was like before him. I think it might be one of the best risks I have taken so far ! Sammy is such a sweet boy and a fast learner, even learning some things I was not planning or trying to teach him ! We worked hard at leash training and learning to be a gentleman in the house and being calm while the groomers cut his nails, but he is such a great boy and has been eager to learn new things. I am amazed at how well he has adapted. He loves car rides, sometimes just going into the car to sleep while Mommy cleans it out! Samson is on the extra large side, weighing in at 102 pounds and loves when people compliment him on what a handsome boy he is! Sammy loves his older kitty sister, Sage, sometimes too much as she does not appreciate the typical doggy sniffing just to say hi!

Samson's past is a mystery and with it come some things we are still working on such as not taking offense when another dog growls at him. But I have no doubt I have adopted one of the greatest dog's and I cannot express how much his addition to my life has meant. Thank you Lab Rescue for all you do !
